Firestone was Kygo's first song to reach high up in the charts, it peaked at 8 in the UK and 1 in Norway
The music video does not have a strong narrative, A man is trying to follow a girl but they keep ending up at a partys. The video does not focus on Kygo's star image since he is only featured for a short time in the video
The few scenes were Kygo was featured was of him performing which portrays him as a serious musician, this video was after Kygo reached number 1 so he is trying to recreate himself as successful artist.
Firestone's video is typical to that of the dance genre, there is no real narrative and is mostly dancing however parts of the video are unusual and do feature a slight narrative of him trying to find the girl which represents how music brings people together.
The music and visuals do have some correlation as the first drop is just as everyone starts dancing, also the lyrics "We light up the world" we see bright sunlight lighting everything.
The video ends at the blue door which was featured during the start of the video, this helps end the narrative and makes the video repeatable as a marketable product.
CD Cover:
Firestone features a very simple CD Cover, the background is black with Kygo's logo featured in the centre, the font is in an orangey red colour which represents the 'Fire' in the song title.
This simplistic design goes alongside the lack of meat shots in the video which expressed how Kygo wants his audience to focus on the music and not him
The contrasting colours of orange and black are used to represent that Kygo wants to stand out from other artists and wants to be different to the other musicians within his genre
well done Josh - deadline met, work of good standard, if brief in places. More detailed comments to follow
