Overview
This shoot was much more productive than our first one and I think we managed to film everything we wanted in excess as well as more. We filmed the whole of the car scene and tried out a new opening scene at a bus stop which we think might be more effective than the characters just meeting in the street.
Strengths
- We focused on doing a lot more POV shots and close ups to make the video more edgy and give it a strong visual style.
- Filming the scenes at the bus stop came out quite well, and is a much more interesting opening than the characters just meeting in the street, so we hope once we have finished these scenes on Sunday this will lead to an effective new opening to our video.
- We also managed to film all of the car shots we were hoping to, and they went very well, so we think this scene will be very successful. We made sure to do all the shots multiple times and from multiple angles so we should be able to edit it together effectively at a fast cutting rate.
- The cast worked well with each other on this shoot and were used to their characters so could play their roles more convincingly.
Challenges & Solutions
- Again the weather was a slight issue this time as it was very windy, but this wasn't too bad as most of the scenes we filmed this time were inside the car park. It also got dark very early again but we were prepared for this and therefor had previously decided to film inside.
- We had an issue of not being able to film the whole bus stop scene as no buses really came along for us to film the characters getting on, but we filmed all that we could and we will finish it on Sunday.
- When we were filming was also a very busy time which caused some problems of constantly having to wait for pedestrians to walk through before filming but when we were in the car park it wasn't as busy so it became less of an issue.
We have planned exactly what we need to shoot on Sunday and that should be our final shoot.
